This 1987 Porsche 928 S4 is finished in Marine Blue Metallic over Linen leather. The car was sold new by Paul Miller Porsche in Parsippany, New Jersey in October 1987, and the car reportedly stayed with its original owner until 2010. The second owner had it mechanically sorted, then sold it a few months later to the third owner. The selling dealer acquired this 928 S4 from the third owner in Fall 2018, and it now has 52k miles. Power comes from a stock 5.0L V8 paired to an automatic transmission, which received a new timing belt in 2011 at 51k miles. Factory options include platinum anodized wheels, protective side moldings, a Hi-Fi sound system with amplifier, dual power/heated front seats with lumbar support, and a sunroof. This Porsche is now offered by the selling dealer in Santa Barbara, California with partial records since 2010, factory books, a clean Carfax, and a clean New York title.
The Marine Blue Metallic finish is pictured from several different angles in the gallery below. The seller notes that the front bumper was professionally resprayed in the past. Cosmetic imperfections are also shown in the gallery, including a driver’s door ding above the key hole, a handful of touched-up paint chips, and a few smaller scratches. The factory protective side moldings remain affixed.
The 928 S4 received a fixed rear spoiler and rear windscreen wiper as depicted above. This particular car was optioned with 16″ platinum anodized wheels, which were professionally refinished approximately 200 miles ago. They are mounted with 225/50 Yokohama AVID tires in front and 245/45 Fuzion ZRi tires out back, with each corner shown up-close in the gallery. The rear hatch contains a factory toolkit and spare tire assembly.
Inside, the Linen leather upholstery shows some wear on the driver’s outer bolstering, and the rear seats are shown in the gallery.
A few hairline cracks are present around the upper defroster vents. Some chips are described on the dashboard sensor cover, which is also highlighted in the gallery. Features include an A/C system and power rear hatch, windows, seats, and sunroof. A Kenwood cassette head unit is currently fitted.
The mechanical odometer shows just under 52k miles.
Under the hood is a naturally-aspirated 5.0L V8 which sends power to the rear wheels through an automatic transmission. The seller notes that if this car is sold to a California resident a state emissions certificate will be provided.
The timing belt was replaced by The Poorsche Gruppe in New Jersey in May 2011 at 51,207 miles. The associated invoice is shown above and in the gallery, along with a $3,588 invoice from the same shop in July 2015 when they rebuilt the DME (engine control computer) and climate control unit.
The accident-free Carfax dates back to 1992 at 15k miles, and shows New York registration from 2010-2015. The most recent odometer reading was taken in September 2015 at 51,855 miles.
