Waisting little time with its urban crossover newcomer, the T-Cross, German manufacturer Volkswagen says it is now taking orders for the little brother of the highly successful T-Roc.
It’s not entirely clear how the 200 units of the limited 1st edition will be allocated. Volkswagen hints to them being offered as part of a lottery, with the handover of the keys to take place at an event on 12 and 13 April 2019 at Autostadt Wolfsburg.
The said lottery, says the carmaker, is open to all those taking part and who sign up by December 7 at Volkswagen’s Germany website. We were unable to find out how exactly the lottery will work or even how to register.
The Volkswagen T-Cross will come with a choice of four engines, all turbocharged and all Euro 6d-Temp compliant; only one of them being diesel.
The gasoline lineup is comprised of two versions of the 1.0-liter, three-cylinder TSI engine, that can develop either 95 or 115 ps. The top of the line model for gasoline units is the 150 ps 1.5-liter TSI.
Volkswagen decided to givet the T-Cross range the choice of only one diesel engine, a 1.6-liter TDI that develops 95 ps.
At the interior, a large 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment sits at the center of the dash, and sound is being by means of a Beats audio system. The T-Cross is also fitted with wireless charging technology for smartphones and up to four USB ports.
